This stretch of beach can be very peaceful as most of the crowds prefer to go to Huntington Beach especially since parking here in Sunset Beach is very limited. It offers a great beach for surfing/swimming/laying out and has a view of San Pedro/Long Beach + the cargo ships waiting to come into port. There are lifeguard towers located along the entire stretch of beach which are usually staffed, more so in the summer time. Parking here is mostly metered with some unmetered spot as well. Other things you can do while parked in the same spot is take a nice walk along the green belt or rent paddle boards and kayaks across the street at OEX
