I quiet community tucked in a canyon away from mainstream Orange County
Silverado
Originally a silver mining town, many mines previously operated here with the largest and most productive being the Blue Light Mine. Before the current name of Silverado, the town was previously known as Cañada De La Madera (1878-1881) and Carbondale (1881-1884). Driving through this town, if you look carefully you will find some remnants of its history. This is a beautiful 6 mile drive from Santiago Canyon to the gate which enters Cleveland National Forest and turns into Maple Springs Road, please observe posted speed limit signs to respect the residents of this canyon.
