Newport Pier

Length: 1,032 feet
Features: Fresh fish market, cafe (closed)
One of two piers in Newport Beach, the current pier was built in 1940 making it newer than Balboa Pier although the original pier that stood here was much older than Balboa Pier. McFadden Wharf was built in 1888 as a place to offload cargo and stood until 1939 when a major storm destroyed it. Dory Fishing Fleet is a fresh fish market that sits at the base of the pier, first opened in 1891 and allows the public to buy freshly caught seafood directly from the fishermen.
