While aboard Newport Coastal Adventure, we got word from Captain Tom Southern of Captain Dave's Dolphin Safari that they had found a blue whale as we were about to depart on the 3pm trip. Of course since we hadn't seen a blue whale since last August, we headed straight that way about 8 miles off Dana Point Headlands. Once we got there, everyone was thrilled to be among the largest living creature to ever roam the earth growing up to 100 feet long. This is just the start of things to come as we should be seeing more blue whales as we get into the start of summer.
