Sharks return to Dana Point
As most of us remember, last spring we saw an influx of juvenile great white sharks patrolling the beach in Dana Point specifically Capistrano Beach
35051 Beech rd
Dana Point, CA 92624
The returning sharks are a sign that the ocean is doing good and these once endangered fish are making a comeback after previously being hunted to the brink of extinction, they are now listed as a vulnerable species. The reason we are seeing them here is due to the warm water and safety which the juveniles prefer until they are a few years of age when they can handle the colder temperatures farther from shore and farther North where there is more food for them, while here they are feasting on the local rays that inhabit the surf.
