Red-tailed Hawk
If you're driving on the freeways or toll roads and see a hawk on a light pole, most likely it is a red-tailed hawk, they are the most common here and love high perches to overlook fields. You may also see them soaring above with their reddish tails being lit up from the sun above. Their primary food source is small rodents like mice, rabbits, and squirrels but will also take snakes and a variety of other available prey.
