Minke Whale
Commonly found around these waters but usually shy, this is the smallest baleen whale that is encountered here. Minke whales do not put up a spout like other larger whales so therefore it is harder to spot and track, they also do not show their tail/fluke so you will only see its rostrum, back, and dorsal fin. They are capable of breaching completely out of the water but it is very rare. You may find them following long-beaked common dolphins feeding off anchovies. Their color pattern is dark gray to black with white on the pectoral fins which glows underwater.
