This species of rattlesnake is is usually a reddish color with a black and white stripe-like pattern near its rattles. This is one of the less venomous species of rattlers around this area but it is still capable of delivering a fatal dose of venom if not treated promptly, they will only strike a human as a last resort of defense as they need to save their venom to use on their prey of mice, rabbits, squirrels, and lizards.
